Japanese Hamburger Steak

Ingredients

    tsp oil
  • 1
    onion
    diced
  • 3
    cloves garlic
    minced
  • 1
    egg
  • 2
    tbsp milk
  • 1
    sprinkle nutmeg
  • 1/4
    cup panko breadcrumbs
  • pepper
  • 1
    lb ground beef (80/20)
  • sea salt
  • 1
    tbsp oil
  • 1/4
    cup red wine
  • 3
    tbsp okonomiyaki sauce or tonkatsu
  • 1/4
    cup red wine
  • 3
    tbsp ketchup
  • 2
    tbsp butter
  • 1/4
    cup water

Instructions

Add 1 tsp oil to pan over medium heat. Sauté 1 onion (diced) for 3min. Add 3 cloves garlic (minced) and sauté for another 2-3min. Set aside.

Mix 1 lb ground beef (80/20), sea salt, pepper, 1 sprinkle nutmeg, onions/garlic, 1/4 cup panko breadcrumbs, 2 tbsp milk, 1 egg. Divide and form 4 patties.

Add 1 tbsp oil to pan over medium heat. Place patties in pan. Make an indent in each patty. Cook 3m, flip and cook 2m.

Add 1/4 cup red wine, cover and let cook 5min. Remove patties, do not drain juices.

Add 2 tbsp butter, 3 tbsp okonomiyaki sauce or tonkatsu, 3 tbsp ketchup, 1/4 cup red wine, 1/4 cup water. Cook 6m until sauce thickens.

Serve with rice and steamed vegetables. Top the patty with sauce and enjoy!
