Simple Chinese Millet Porridge
- 1cup Millet
- Toppings as desired - this one with pickled cucumbers in soy sauce
We are making a simple millet porridge. It’s healthy, inexpensive and fast.
Start by boiling four cups of water. Use any millet - we are using an organic one here. It’s $7 and can make up to 5 pots of porridge with just one bag!
Add in one cup of washed millet into the boiling water. Cook for 25 minutes on low heat. Cover. Stir occasionally.
You can add any number of toppings to flavor the porridge. I like to use pickled cucumber in soy sauce, which is a staple in Chinese porridge dishes.
