Scallion Pancakes (inexpensive and easy!)

Ingredients

  • 1.5
    cups Flour
  • 1
    tbsp Salt
  • 1
    tbsp Sugar
  • 1/2
    cup Warm water
  • 1
    bunch Scallions
  • 1
    tbsp Soy sauce
  • 1
    tsp Sesame oil
  • 1
    tbsp Olive oil

Let’s make scallion pancakes. This is my mom’s family recipe.

Scallion pancakes are easy to make. First prepare the ingredients. Cut the scallion into thin pieces and prepare the batter (mix flour, salt and sugar).

First, combine water to your dry batter mix. When the dough becomes chunky, use your hands to combine the batter.

Take the dough out of the pan and continue to kneed for 4-5 minutes. This will make the dough chewy (yum!)

Rest the dough, covered, for 10 minutes. Then, make a whole in the middle of the dough and put in 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Kneed for another 2-3 minutes.

Roll the dough out into a rectangle. Add 2 tsp of olive oil and spread. Add salt and scallions evenly across the dough.

Pan fry on low heat until golden brown. Flip and brown on both sides.

Cut into pieces, and serve with your favorite condiments - soy sauce, sesame oil, or chili sauce!
